The Mathias gate
The Europe place will be opened from the Zichy-palace inside the park side. There will be a gate-tower located on the same side, which is symbolizing the separation of the court from the park. We named this object after the most famous king Matthias Corvinus, who was emotionally tied to this town and to whom our town is very grateful.
This gate, which is called after Matthias Corvinus, will be the most dominating structure after completion, from the builder's point of view. Of course, the downtown's structural balance will remain untouched. It will remind us the forms and styles of buildings from the Matthias Corvinus era, including the family castle called Hunedoara. Hungarian great king's shield, relief and plate is located above the gate.
